Figures you can recount
We publish only figures that can be verified. Each one here can be recounted in a few clicks, without taking our word for it. This page is the single source: press, partners, and funders read the same figures, on the same date.
Reading these figures
The French and English corpora each hold 300 training cases; the five other languages (Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Mandarin) share a 30-case core, the same teaching base in every language. Every corpus is sorted into 10 categories and 3 difficulty levels.
The 280 pages cover, for each of the 7 languages, the site’s full interface, the 10 habit pages, and the training pages: 40 pages per language, all listed in the public sitemap.
Every counter carries its count date. Figures are recounted from public data each time a project changes and at every publication of this site.
The rule for every figure
A figure earns a place on this page only if it meets three conditions: it is counted, not estimated; it is dated; and it comes with a public address where anyone can recount it. That discipline produces fewer figures than usual, but every one of them holds up. And when a figure stops being true, it gets corrected publicly, not quietly.
The method, step by step
- Open the project’s public data: avantdycroire.odersa.org/data/fr/cases.json (and the same address for en, es, ar, hi, bn, zh).
- Read the “count” field in each file, or count the entries yourself: 300 + 300 + 30 × 5 = 750.
- Compare with what we show here. If a figure does not add up, write to us: we will correct it publicly.
What we do not count
No traffic numbers: our sites carry no measurement tool, by a deliberate privacy choice. If we ever publish an audience figure, its method will be described here.
No estimated “beneficiaries” and no extrapolated impact: we count what is published, not what we hope for.
No flattering roll-ups: each figure counts one thing, once, and states exactly what it counts.
No volunteer hours converted into impact figures: our work is currently supported by ODERSA’s own resources and volunteer time.
Open data
The counters on this page are published as JSON, under a CC BY 4.0 license, to be cited or reused as they are. The file carries the count date and the proof address of every counter.
